Karin is a devoted yogini and lifelong student of the body and breath. A nature enthusiast, avid hiker, and inutitive being led by the moon, stars and magic, she is a wild child of the universe. With a strong background in vinyasa, yin, and somatic practice (over 30 years on a yoga mat; teaching regularly since 2022), she creates and holds loving spaces where people reconnect with themselves and the world around them.
Karin brings 10 years as a massage therapist, 25 years in esthetics in Southern California, and a stint as an EMT and student of excercise physiology at UC DAVIS (but graduating in International Relations & German). Sober since 2018, she weaves practical body wisdom and soulful presences into every class or event. She teaches group and private sessions, leads classes at different events and spaces (lavender fields, wineries & festivals, bachelorette parties, even goat yoga) and offers intimate practice in a climate controlled, beautiful yurt in the heart of wine country. Students may also book her 5 Star AirBnb for peaceful, quiet, private stays and retreats under the same name in Newberg, Oregon.
Karin also guides sound healing sessions, sometimes ending yoga classes with this subtle art shaped by her appreciation and practice of music and living with tinnitus for 10 + years (high pitched ringing in the ears). That experience has given her a thoughtful, embodied appreciation for sound's power to soothe, connect, and transform, which she gently weaves into classes and healing sessions. (Ask her about the 1000+ concerts attended and selling exploding targets!)
Rooted in her venture "Peace of Portland", Karin believes in building a like-minded community that supports healing, recovery, and belonging. Gently grounded, fiercely present and intuitively gifted, she guides practioners of every level toward greater ease, resilience and connection.
You'll often find her outside with her loving partner Stuart, their family dog Fayra (the best therapy dog and yin bolster ever) and black kitty, Pax.
Karin gives a gentle assist in bridge pose at The Sanctuary, Koh Phangang, Thailand 2026.
